Sabra Michelle is a veteran performer, choreographer, educator, and administrator whose vibrant 30-year career in the performing arts spans international tours, New York City stages, and regional theater companies across the United States. Today, she brings her deep industry expertise and passion for mentorship to her role as Director of Education for the Conservatory at Capital City Theatre.
Raised in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Sabra earned her BFA in Dance from Shenandoah Conservatory. That rigorous training launched a dynamic career on stage and screen. Regionally, she became best known for bringing iconic leading ladies to life, including Cassie (A CHORUS LINE), Roxie (CHICAGO), and Lola (DAMN YANKEES). Her performance career also includes extensive philanthropic work for Broadway Cares, performing three times in Jerry Mitchell’s celebrated Broadway Bares, and founding The Cougar Ball—a high-energy event celebrating "Fabulous, Funny, Flirty Friends at Forty, Fifty, and Forever!"
Since making Madison her home, Sabra has become a central creative force in the local arts scene. Audiences have seen her light up the stage with Capital City Theatre as Tessie Tura (GYPSY) and Flossie/Lucy Schmeeler (ON THE TOWN), as well as choreographing CCT’s award-nominated regional premiere of NATASHA, PIERRE, & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812.
Sabra relocated to Madison to marry a professional stagehand and Master Electrician for the Capitol Theater at the Overture Center for the Arts. Deeply invested in strengthening the regional arts ecosystem, she serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors for Dance Wisconsin, holds active union membership with IATSE Local 251, and works as an Onboarding Specialist helping non-profit organizations navigate ticketing, marketing, and fundraising platform tools like Arts People and Neon One. Offstage, Sabra is a licensed real estate agent offering global client referrals, and a proud dog-mom to two beloved cocker spaniels.
